The arts offer children significant benefits, their soul and spirit are nurtured through the ‘journeys’ they experience as they create. They learn about themselves on both a practical and an emotional level. They learn how to control their movements and coordinate them with their minds. They accept themselves, discover their strengths, skills but also their weaknesses by learning to overcome them.
Creativity equals art and vice versa. Painting, music, acting are synonymous with creativity, but they do not cease to be activities that require concentration and discipline. Through dedication, children learn to focus on their goal until they achieve it. But most important of all is that through children’s friction with the arts, they learn to communicate with the world by expressing their thoughts. Their movements are coordinated with their emotions and their emotions with their minds.
