200 years later!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREECE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREEKS ALL OVER THE WORLD!
Today we celebrate our Greekness, the morality, the strength and the patience that emanates through our history as Greeks.
An occasion to remember that those who know their history and culture can walk with responsibility, integrity and argumentation on the roads that lead to a better tomorrow.
For us, and our children…!
The song “Let’s keep the dances” by Dionysis Savvopoulos was chosen by the “Ellada 2021” / Greece 2021 Committee in order to create the video clip for the 200th anniversary of the Revolution. A happy and optimistic song, which has been loved by millions of Greeks that presents the historical course of Greece, through the allegory of the celebration of a group of modern Greeks.
Through its verses, the eternal course of Hellenism from antiquity to the present day is presented with particular sensitivity. “The communities of the Greeks”, in a great national assembly march united into the future, summarizing in the best way the message of modern and optimistic patriotism that the 200th anniversary of the Revolution sends out.
The President of the “Greece 2021” Committee, Gianna Angelopoulou-Daskalaki, said: “We chose this song because it describes our common journey in a unique way. In these 200 years, our “community” unfolded, grew. “Our bond thickened.” Many times we fell but got back up and “our teams continued to make history”. In 2021 we look ahead. We blend our “old and burnt-out tracks” with a bright and optimistic future. Because the journey of the Greeks continues. So let the dances continue!”.
