Chemistry
Chemistry in education is a multidimensional project, as students develop critical thinking through creative activities. They acquire knowledge and cultivate skills that enable them to successfully continue their cognitive course in matters of interest to them, but they also acquire attributes that will allow them to become active citizens, since chemistry is everywhere, in our home, in our body, in our daily life.
The use of a huge number of products – cleaning products, medicines, cosmetics, paints, plastics – as well as understanding the function of nature as a whole, but also of the human body, requires basic knowledge of chemistry, which is assimilated in the best possible way by each student.
Besides, chemistry faces new challenges, as it is called to provide solutions to contemporary problems for greener forms of energy, new environmentally friendly products and for sustainable development within a greener environment.

An integrated approach of Chemistry as course is the familiarity and subsequent understanding of it, to gain abilities and skills by further enhancing its values as well as attitudes towards society.
In our school, children have the opportunity to attend lessons individually or in small groups and prepare for the Pan-Cypriot exams as well as for GCSEs, IGCSE, A-Level, IELTS, TOEFL, SATs.

Students come into contact for the first time with the course of Chemistry in Upper High School here they are given the opportunity to recognize and appreciate the place of Chemistry in today’s world, both in its scientific dimension and in its application in our daily lives, through the use of examples .

In high school Chemistry as a subject focuses on general Chemistry issues which are then examined in greater depth (scope and content ). The curriculum also deals with experimental observations of chemical reactions, detailed study of chemical bonds, concept of quantity in Chemistry, solutions, etc. In the first grade of Lyceum, students understand basic concepts of Organic Chemistry while in second grade the academic curriculum involves thematic axes of Stoichiometry, Thermochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Chemical Equilibrium, etc.
